come dice il titolo si tratta di questioni di principio, e tutto ruota a questo.
la sceneggiatura ti tiene attaccato alla storia, con colpi di scena a ripetizione.

…Agradable comedia argentina del más bien desconocido Rodrigo Grande, se plantea como una especie de fábula sobre los principios que sustentan la existencia personal. Con algunos pasajes muy divertidos, se invita a pensar en qué aspectos vitales uno no estaría dispuesto a transigir, pues se estaría cruzando la importante línea de la fundamentación ética. La idea de sostenerlo todo en algo que parece de poca monta –la tenencia de una revista–, sirve para comparar con otras cuestiones en las que Castilla está jugando de modo peligroso, como su matrimonio cansino, la escasa preocupación por su hijo y el flirteo con una compañera de trabajo. is far from the innovative, sometimes disquieting or disconcerting style of the
so-called New Argentine Cinema. Cuestión de principios is
narrated along a clearly defined plotline. But, all things considered, it
is neither a product of the 70s, nor a reflection of an immoral age, the 90s.
It is not in tune, either, with the more flexible postures of the 21st century
(which, off course, does not mean selling out but rather standing up to
reason).
Once the dice
have been cast, Castilla is trapped in a corner. Is there an alternative to his
ethical stance?
The answer is
No. There’s a compromise solution, a smart choice, but Cuestión de
principios fails to adequately convey that the road not taken and the
one actually taken are at odds. Add to it that actor Federico Luppi turns in
his usual wooden style of acting and hardly intelligible discourse realization,
and that a great actress like Norma Aleandro must struggle to make a stock
character take on some degree of originality, and there’s your Double Binding
proposition. One way or another, the ensuing result will be the same, if we are
to go by Castilla’s staunch principles. Granted, Cuestión de principios does
try to make a point that there’s some middle ground out there, where you may
sacrifice your ideals without losing dignity. But it fails to address the issue
of where the Double Binding’s victim`s psyche will go whichever road s/he
chooses to take.
