la seconda metà del film si svolge in un'aula di tribunale, e se la prima parte era solo un gran film la seconda è eccezionale.
niente da invidiare al grande cinema civile e politico che conosciamo, italiano, europeo o statiunitense, e sopratutto è un film da cui non vorresti mai staccarti, non annoia un secondo, ed è a suo modo rivoluzionario, in tempi di odio, identità escludenti, indù contro musulmani, un argine alla follia del mondo.

Musulmani e hindu in India: un passato di
convivenza, un presente di pregiudizio e conflitto. L'avvocato hindu Aarthi
Malhotra Mohammed lotta per difendere la causa della famiglia musulmana del
marito, presa di mira dalla legge e dall'astio della comunità dopo un atto
terroristico. Film intenso, ispirato a un fatto di cronaca.

At the heart Mulk is a fearless spirit that
is a far cry from the abject timidity of Bollywood, an industry that believes
in upholding the status quo even if it threatens to endanger the precious
pluralistic ethos that lies at the foundation of this vast nation. In making
its extremely timely statement, this film allows itself to lean a tad towards
conventional melodrama. But it makes its point with such force that it is
difficult not to be impressed. Go watch Mulk for its stout-hearted espousal of
sanity. It isn’t often that Bollywood shows such spine.
